Razzle Dazzle samples

an exercise in free motion writing…..

a terrific exercise in control of stitching! I enjoyed it once I had accepted that it could wiggle and waver a bit and still work ; the piece done on transfer printed satin was much more interesting, I do find the black felt background flattens the work and makes it look much more like an “exercise”. The lettering seems to have more impact on the satin background with its mixed colours and its glow. It would be fun next to try a sample where the letters are distorted much more in shape and size so that the message becomes a bit more hidden, and works as a sort of abstract pattern…….hmm, must try…..

  1. love your samples, particularly the zig zag stitches, such wonderful colours both in your stitching and the background fabric 🙂
