a journal: textiles, inspiration, musings

I have returned to the transfer painting, to build up a collection of usable fabrics and to experiment with some more techniques. The Double Trouble book Transfer to Transform, by Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn, is an excellent resource with some good ideas for further experimentation. In the images below I have used one of my sketches of seaweed as a starting point to “draw” with some watercolour painting resist….then painted over it and made two prints from it.the second one, on satin, is actually a stronger print. The print has a nice blurry soft-edge look because I left the resist on the painted paper and ironed it…next I have tried  one removing the resist before making the print…….
